Great views of Briksdalsbreen surrounded by wild mountains, the mighty Jostedalsbreen and cascading waterfalls. The entrance fee is your own effort, a solid but manageable workout and a steep mountainside and airy cleft to get all the way up to the egga. From some angles the trip looks impossible - but you shouldn't look at Kattanakken on the hair.

Start from the parking lot in Briksdalen. Follow the road/path towards Briksdalsbreen. Turn right just before the second bridge over the river. Follow the path into the forest. After a while it turns south and goes over some rocky rocks, before turning west and sloping up the mountainside until you reach the ridge at about 700 meters above sea level. From there you follow the ridge up to the top. Kattanakken is a sharp mountain ridge. In some places the walk will feel a bit airy.
