Meet the animals at Kleivane towards Briksdalsbreen.
On the hike into the valley towards the mighty Briksdalsbreen glacier, it's not just ice and cascading water that catch your attention. There is life along the path – small and large animals that make the hike even more exciting, especially for children (and adults who never quite stopped being children).
Along the road at Kleivane we can meet curious goats. They often come close to the fence and greet us with a friendly bleating. The goats are good at climbing and balancing, and it is almost as if they are showing off to everyone who passes by.
A little further away in the pasture stand the proud horses. With soft muzzles and warm eyes they follow passersby. Sometimes they come calmly strolling over to say hello. For many children it is great to see such a large and beautiful horse up close. Cameras and mobile phones quickly appear – it is never wrong to meet animals at Kleivane!
Along the path we may also be lucky enough to see small birds hopping between the bushes, or a sheep grazing peacefully in the grass. Perhaps we will see traces of deer at the edge of the forest? The nature around the glacier is alive, and every walk can offer new experiences.
Walking towards the glacier is not just about reaching the goal. It's about everything we encounter along the way – the gentle animals, the kind faces, the laughter when a goat makes a little jump. This makes the trip to Briksdalsbreen a little adventure, full of life and joy.
